The Boston Bombing Suspects’ Lack of Planning

Good reconstruction of the Boston Bombing Suspects' deadly run in Washington Post. Their own aunt IDed them to FBI. Forcing victim of carjacking to withdraw cash from ATM proves my point of poor planning by terrorists, especially given that they planned to stage more attacks, as it is clear from amount of explosives they had after the marathon bombing. Still puzzled why they killed a MIT police officer – maybe wanted his car to infiltrate a security perimeter around a high value target? That they happened to be in a 7/11 which got robbed, enabling police to notice them as they watched video recorded by the store's camera is almost a sign of heavenly intervention. Think about it – what were the chances that they would visit that store?
