Anyone Else Thinks Putin Is Throwing Ukrainian Rebels Under the Bus Soon?

Back in July the 'common wisdom' of Russia watchers, which I countered in the piece here, seemed to be that Putin had either thrown or would soon throw Ukrainian separatists under the bus. Even as Ukrainian government troops advanced to outskirts of Donetsk and Luhansk in late July, I warned that Poroshenko was wrong to hope Putin would allow him to finish rebels off and cautioned against trying to corner Putin.
Poroshenko should have stopped the advance of the Ukrainian government forces on outskirts of Donetsk and Luhansk and then proceeded to negotiate a deal from the position of strength. Instead, he went for (or was pushed to go for) a full military victory, somehow hoping that Putin would let the Ukrainian forces continue advancing.
Lack of foresight on part of Ukraine's new/old ruling elite, which I noted when analyzing earlier how events in Ukraine made Putin intervene, after never ceases to amaze me.
